A fictional lifestyle magazine focusing on all things arts & crafts. It publishes monthly with features about the current trends and happenings in the crafting world.
My goal was to create a 12-page layout for Avocation’s November 2025 issue including a cover, table of contents, an ‘About Me’ section, 3 ads, and 3 spreads.
Given the lack of restrictions on the project, the greatest challenge was narrowing down what kind of design I wanted to use. Avocation is an arts & crafts magazine, particularly reminiscent of the 2000s aesthetic of eclectic girls magazines meant for teenage girls. With that in mind, I really committed to the randomized yet still harmonized aesthetic of mixing different patterns, fonts, colours, illustration styles and craft supplies.
